Supply column

The supply column is a ceiling mounted supply unit for electricity and medical gases. The column is available in two variants; fixed or adjustable. The adjustable column can be lowered 500 mm to make connections at working height, then easily removed to free up working space. The supply column is mainly used in pre-operation and X-ray rooms.

Electrical socket outlets

The column is equipped with the desired number of electrical outlet sockets. Outlet sockets are fitted in connection boxes, which are permanently fixed to the framework. Front panels can be dismantled without affecting the installation in the panel. The panel can be equipped with different national standard outlet sockets.

Material, colour, weight and height

The column is made of aluminium and weighs 60 kg, available as standard in a natural anodised finish. It can also be ordered in optional colours at an additional cost. The panel has a smooth external face that facilitates easy cleaning. The adjustable column is delivered, as standard, with an electrical motor that permits 500 mm of adjustment. Normally the supply column is adjusted so that in its lowest position it is 1500 mm above the floor and in its uppermost position it is 2000 mm above the floor. The room must have a ceiling height of at least 3200 mm to the fixed ceiling to achieve this.

Mounting / Connection

A special ceiling bracket is required for installation on a ceiling. All electrical outlet sockets are internally connected and routed to the ceiling box, which is mounted on the ceiling next to the ceiling bracket. Gas pipes are terminated in the suspended ceiling for soldering between the column and the fixed ceiling.

Control

A handset is used to control the raising and lowering of the adjustable model, this is connected to the column by a lead and connector.
