DuoFlex is a ceiling mounted intensive care panel that provides access to advanced equipment while still maintaining freedom of movement and creating space around the patient, even at the head end.

DuoFlex is a ceiling mounted intensive care panel that provides access to advanced equipment while still maintaining freedom of movement and creating space around the patient, even at the head end. Cables and hoses are routed upwards to the panel, avoiding dangerous and irritating cable bundles while additional facilitating easy cleaning.

DuoFlex houses a great deal of equipment on both the front and back. Electrical outlet sockets, gas outlets and other functions are integrated in the panel according to the specification. The sloping sides ensure these functions are easily accessible. Each DuoFlex panel can be equipped with movable stands for electro-medical equipment – shelves, drawers, IC hoses for infusion pumps can be fitted to the stands. The panel can also be equipped with a trolley for a drip carrier and a mount for infusion pumps.

Connection

All electrical and gas outlets are internally connected. Electrical cables are routed to terminal blocks at the connection end and gas pipes are routed approx. 300 mm outside the connection end.

Design

The panel is available in four basic versions: DuoFlex DuoFlex 12-S,12-P-S, 12-C-S, 12-P/C-S. The panel consists of double profile assemblies mounted to each other back to back with a T-bar and Notor profile between them. The T-bar is for attaching the shelf system; the Notor profile can be used for general lighting. The panel can be mounted independently or several can be linked together to a L- or U-form. The panel can be supplied in lengths of up to 6200 mm and several units can be joined together.

Examination lighting

It is also possible to equip the panel with a moveable lamp for examination light, type Halux.

Electrical socket outlets

DuoFlex is equipped with the specified number of heavy and low current outlet sockets. The outlet sockets are fitted in the equipment brackets that are permanently attached to the bottom section. A cover plate, adapted by Fagerhult, ensures that the installation is mounted completely flat against the front of the panel. The panel can be equipped with different national standard outlet sockets.

Rack

DuoFlex can be supplied with shelf frames for electro-medical equipment. Shelf frames can be moved along the length of the panel and rotated to achieve the optimum position between the equipment and the patient.

Material, colour

All profiles are manufactured in extruded aluminium. Cover plates, braces and gas outlet bracket in alu-zinc sheet. The bottom and front sections for outlet sockets are available in natural anodised or white enamelled finishes (RAL 9010) as standard. Alternative colour finishes are available at an additional charge. The panel has smooth external faces that facilitate cleaning.

Suspension

The panel is suspended in pendants attached to the ceiling via special ceiling brackets. These brackets are fully adjustable. Stays are attached between the pendants to achieve the greatest stability. The stays are placed above suspended ceilings. The weight of a complete 1-patient panel with medical equipment is approx. 450 kg (DuoFlex 12-C-S L=4000 mm maximum equipped).

General lighting

The panel can be equipped with general lighting through a continuous luminaire mounted on the top edge. The light is directed upwards to the ceiling and produces indirect lighting in the room. The light opening is covered by an opal plastic diffuser or clear plastic diffuser.
