Senior Retail Lighting Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lighting Designer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Lighting Designer in our Retail team, you will play a crucial role in conceptualizing, designing, and implementing lighting solutions for a variety of projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in utilizing industrystandard software such as Dialux Evo, AutoCAD, and 3dsMax to create innovative and efficient lighting designs. This is a hybrid working position, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of 3 days a week, with the flexibility to move these days week to week every 6 month period.

Reporting to: Head of Lighting Design

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with architects, interior designers and engineers to develop lighting concepts that meet project requirements and objectives.
  • Create detailed lighting layouts, calculations and specifications using Dialux Evo Software.
  • Conduct lighting simulations and analyses to optimise energy efficiency and visual comfort.
  • Stay updated on the latest lighting technologies, trends and industry best practices.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers and team members.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Key skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Lighting Design, Architecture, or related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in lighting design for architectural projects.
  • Proficiency in Dialux Evo for lighting calculations and simulations.
  • Advanced skills in AutoCAD and 3dsMax for 2D and 3D modelling and rendering.
  • Strong understanding of lighting principles, codes, and standards.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
