Cederleüf and Svenheimer

Eco consciousness reflected in the design

The traditional cafe and bakery Cederleüf and Svenheimer show how sustainable solutions and food goes hand in hand. The interior design company Studio Streck came up with a new concept for their cafe at Allum Shopping centre outside of Gothenburg and Fagerhult delivered new LED lighting.

”Fika”, the Swedish concept, to enjoy a coffee together with pastries, has become increasingly a larger part of a swede's every-day life. The time we spend in cafes is increasing and today it is a place to socialise, study and work.

Cederleüfs & Svenheimer is a family cafe business in Gothenburg, Sweden. With knowledge of three generations they produce locally baked products.

When they decided to upgrade their shop at Allum Shopping Mall it was important that knowledge and eco consciousness were reflected in the store, from materials and colours to luminaires. The interior design company Studio Streck came up with a new concept and presented an open cafe closer in which you come closer to the products.

Fagerhult delivered a lighting concept with the LED spotlight Marathon with a medium beam. The luminaries provide general light and highlight the displays and cashier area. To avoid glare in the cashier area honeycomb accessories were used. 3D-programs were also used to visualise the result.

Switching from traditional fluorescent lamp to LED lighting made important energy savings. The redesign stimulates sales and makes the pastries and bread look even better. Cederleüf and Svenheimer is now a cafe where it is easy to grab a coffee or just buy something tasty to bring home after the shopping spree.
