SKÅNE UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Emergency department in new light
- Year: 2013
- Location: Malmö
- Architect: C.F. Møller
The emergency department and infection clinic at Skåne University Hospital was awarded with the Malmö City building price in 2010. The motivation was its unique architecture that stands out in the neighbourhood.
To modernise its operations Skåne University Hospital in Malmö needed to rebuild their emergency department. The result gave a round colourful building with a design of practical use. The so-called ”airlocks” in the passageways around the building is made with focus on ventilation that reduces the risk of contamination between departments.
The light solutions provided from Fagerhult are bedhead units Aluflex 13, orientation light and general light for both indoors and outdoors.
Aluflex 13 is the bedhead unit that is designed for wards where the height of the panel needs to be limited yet all the resources must be available.
1150 clean lines of luminaire Notor were installed in the building. Custom made white Notor gives general light to the round corridors. Notor with IP 23 illuminates the passageways that are visible from the outside, which gives an extra touch to the façade by night.
