Pozzo Scale

Proportionate illumination

Scale is the latest evolution of the Pozzo lighting concept, using natural light as the reference point of its design. Despite its slim form, measuring only 51,5 mm in height, Pozzo Scale has a focused indirect light component dedicating 40% of the total light output to the ambient surfaces for an increased spatial experience.

To complement the direct/indirect, Pozzo Scale is available as a direct only pendant and in a surface mounted alternative. The classic Pozzo recessed completes the range with its defining adjustable louvre which can switch from a lightwell to a large round beam luminaire aligned with the ceiling.

All variations utilise the same ‘soft frame’ technique with a slight bezel leading the light from the optic onto the housing for a smooth transition between the bright and dark surfaces and a choice of opal or delta diffusers.

Uniform expression

Avaliable in three different sizes, 500, 650 or 850 mm, Pozzo Scale pendant is ideal for combing different dimensions in a cluster. The light output has been proportionately increased, ensuring a consistent perceived brightness when various sizes are viewed in a single installation. In areas with reduced ceiling heights Pozzo Scale Ceiling helps maintain the design integrity and lit affect. For increased efficiency, Scale Ceiling can be supplied with integral sensors for e-Sense.

Increasingly in large open areas people are searching for their own personal space. For specific tasks, informal meetings or dedicated workstations, Pozzo Scale is an ideal way of creating islands in the room. It’s slim cylindrical design and focused, direct distribution puts the light where you need it, providing both visual and illuminated variation. The Microprismatic Delta optic complies with the office Norms for a comfortable, non-directional, glare-free task lighting solution.

The nature of education architecture and design is evolving but is lighting being left behind?

Researcher and architect Imke Wies van Mil outlines her quest to investigate how activities, space and light interact with localised lighting in both the classroom and the workspace.
