Concealed sensor in the luminaire

e-Sense Detect is a lighting control system based on microwave technology, enabling it to be used in several different environments and to satisfy various needs. Because the sensor unit is concealed in the luminaire, neither the design nor enclosure class is affected.

The microwave sensor works like a radar and sends out a low-power signal of less than 10 mW, which is then reflected back. When the time of the reflected signal changes, the sensor registers motion. e-Sense Detect is well suited for use in, for example, public WCs, cloakrooms, corridors and storage areas.

How e-Sense Detect works

A microwave sensor differs from a PIR sensor (Passive Infra Red) because it can, for example, detect motion through a thin wall or a door. This is an advantage if the luminaire is placed in a WC, for instance, since the lights turn on before the door is opened. Read more about how e-Sense Detect works here.
