The WestWorks building is part of the wider White City Place redevelopment in West London by RIBA award-winning architects, Allies and Morrison. WestWorks is at the heart of this new creative campus for London, which has earned a Platinum Wired score and an Excellent BREEAM rating.
The original WestWorks building was reconfigured as a mix of retail and office spaces. The primary objective was to create high, clean and bright spaces, without compromising any of the building’s flexibility.
Fagerhult used an extensive range of luminaries to create a spectrum of nuanced effects across WestWorks’ spaces, from the reception to back of house. Fagerhult collaborated with Allies and Morrison and offered technical advice and expertise throughout the restructuring of the building.
The attention to lighting across the different spaces is evident in the finished building. Luminaries look precise, ceilings high, and spaces feel hospitable.
Maria Castrillo, responsible for the ceiling packages at Allies and Morrison, said: “I'm particularly happy with the result we've achieved illuminating the core corridors with recessed fittings. Despite initial problems due to existing site constraints, we managed to resolve this swiftly.”
