Helsingborg : Sweden

A brighter school

The schoolyard is a large, important part of the school. The environment must have good visibility and be perceived as being safe for everyone who spends time there. It must also be possible to use the schoolyard safely after darkness has fallen. Lighting from Fagerhult obviously plays a big role in this.

Tågaborgsskolan is a newly built school in the central parts of Helsingborg in the south of Sweden. It opened in 2013 and stands on the site of an old school from 1912. The school has 560 students from kindergarten to high school.

For the new school, which is located in an older residential area, the requirements were glare-free lighting that not only lights up the school yard, but also withstands rough play during daytime.

For the school's facades and entrances, Rondo G2 Power in both wall and ceiling version were chosen. For a homogeneous impression, Rondo G2 Power post top with 5 meter straight cylindrical post were installed. The Rondo G2 family has a classic design and is of course equipped with energy-efficient LED.

The inground luminaire Megazip from Simes lights up the trees in the schoolyard in a beautiful way.

The exterior lighting really helps to create a safe and inviting feeling – for both children and adults, says Mattias Olofsson-Lagerqvist, sales representative at Fagerhult.

Products from Simes are distributed via Fagerhult in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Australia and Russia.
