The new interior at Arag is fully adapted to the so-called Activity based Office concept. Here a mix of Fagerhult LED luminaires, T5 and compact flourcent fixtures have been used, in combination with DALI – adding adjustable lighting to the flexible workspaces.
When technology no longer ties us to a specific work space, it’s the activities in the office that becomes the starting point for the workspace, and not the individual desk area. Arag embraces the “activity based working” concept and now has new flexible working spaces comprising small meeting hubs combined with greater activity areas.
The staff can now move around the office and use the larger multifunctional areas as required, while the smaller hubs offer quiet and peaceful areas for individual work or private meetings.
Natural fresh elements
The Arag building consists of two parts, one built in 1985 and another one in 1992. During 2011 to 2013 the office was completely renovated. The result, is a building which is bright with fresh colours enhanced by functional as well as decorative lighting, which was finished in May 2013.
The white walls and interior give a bright feeling that is framed by the natural element of the wooden lamella ceilings. It’s quality design gives a truly inspiring workspace that promotes creativity.
An activity based office needs lighting that is adjustable as well as flexible. Lighting is not only atmospheric, it must offer functionality as well as comfort; an ambient light level of 300 lux which can be increased if necessary.
This project used a combination of Fagerhult LEDs, T5 and compact fluorescent fixtures, most of them are combined with an intelligent Dali system.
Fagerhult’s light line Notor provides general light in the hallways and library. Fittings from the popular downlight series Pleiad produce a crisp light over the communication areas.
Spotlights and wallwashers
The efficient LED version of Pleiad wallwashers shed light on the walls and contributes to its fresh surroundings. Almost 600 Easy fittings with LED are dispersed around the office. Their lighting of the colourful meeting hubs is a good example of just how inviting light can be.
