Man and the light

Lighting makes the difference

Improved lighting makes people feel better and has a positive effect on the environment and climate! By placing people and the environment in the centre we can create healthy lighting environments, while simultaneously meeting the requirements for energy efficiency and economy. Think about entire systems, instead of individual luminaires. The less energy spent, the lower the environmental impact. It’s that easy

Man in our light

With our knowledge we create light that makes people feel good. In the project “Light and Health” Fagerhult investigates how different types of light affect man’s well-being and developed new technologies for improved working environments and increased comfort. In cooperation with Lund University Fagerhult has prepared the study “The significance of ambient luminance and colour temperature for alertness, well-being and performance”. The result shows that principally it is the ambient light that has a positive effect on us.

The project is linked to the Swedish National environment objective, sub-objective 15, Well-developed environments and two of its sub-objectives, Energy usage in buildings and the effects of buildings on health. Based on the study Fagerhult has developed “LightShift”, a unique luminaire that supports separate control of the intensity of ambient light and colour temperature to suit individual needs. A concrete way to influence the people’s health!

Fagerhult as an employer

Fagerhult is a global operator. Our 2,000 employees are scattered across 15 countries and work with everything from development to production to sales. Through our sub-suppliers we influence many more. It is part of our culture to ensure that everyone who comes into contact with us has the opportunity for personal development and acceptable working conditions.

The Swedish Occupational Safety and Health Act is applied within the Fagerhult Group even at all international operations. The working environment and procedures have been designed to prevent occupational injuries and accidents. We also organise activities that promote good health. Fagerhult’s sub-suppliers are also expected to follow our demands on the working environment and human rights.

All our purchasing departments use local assessment criteria for their suppliers. Fagerhult’s social commitment comprises both local and global initiatives. For example we collaborate with the children’s charities “Världens Barn” and “Erikshjälpen”. Together with Erikshjälpen, Fagerhult has contributed to the installation of solar collectors and solar panels in homes and schools without electricity.
